For us, sustainability is more than a trend and central to our approach: Since our founding in 1889, we have managed our company responsibly and in harmony with nature.

    Economic success combined with ecological and social responsibility is now an integral part of Rotho. We therefore consider it essential that we continue to develop our understanding of sustainability every year and bring it into line with the major developments of our time.

    Sustainability is a journey and our goal is a future in which it is a matter of course. That is why sustainability is one of the four pillars of our corporate strategy on which we base our
    Define “Zero Waste Vision”.


    We currently see the biggest developments in these six areas:
  • As a plastics manufacturer, we are committed to using climate-neutral, high-quality plastics and to using resources responsibly.

    Sustainability is not a trend for us. We laid the foundation for the use of recycled materials back in 2009 with the Müli waste bin and the first Paso. Today, all of our products are 100% recyclable.

  • Turning waste into gold

    Vegetable and fruit scraps = garbage? Absolutely not!

    Raw fruit and vegetables are perfect for compost and should therefore always be separated from the rest of the waste - whether for your garden or the organic waste bin. Did you know that composting food waste reduces emissions and enriches the soil for gardening?

  • Sustainable action is very important to Rotho. We continue to use renewable energy sources consistently. We have a long-term energy management system that we use to improve our energy efficiency.

  • We face enormous environmental challenges today and are tackling them with urgency. That is why we have committed to submitting targets that are consistent with climate science to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
